“Okay so lately these ‘routine’ missions have turned out to be really boring. We’ve been here for 4 weeks already and only 1 mission has had anything happen so far but it didn’t even count towards our trainee assessment. So, I’m looking for the opportunity to show the Captain that we’re a great team and ready for the expedition” – Hyde

“I was so looking forward to taking a mission yesterday but as a so-called matter of life and death, I was called away from taking part in the mission. As it turned out a big group of customers was going to be at the Tavern and they were severely short-staffed after some of the wait staff got sick 2 days ago and are recovering still. I suppose it was life and death for the reputation of the bar but not exactly life and death from an adventurer’s point of view.

Derasign, Ataraxia, and Glaive all joined me to help out at the tavern. It’s not adventure but at least pays are room and board for the week. The others though… they should have been back today.” – Hyde

“Another mission! Hopefully this one will be more exciting and more important more profitable. Why do important things always cost so much money?! I’m little nervous about combat though…” – Mirai

What happened according to stories being told and the latest gossip

A new adventurer enters the fray

“The new member – actually really knows her name so people have just started calling her Jane or Jane Doe – was spotted in the corner of town doing some kind of magical ritual. I’ve heard that a dragon appeared… well… kind of… an eye witness said they saw that looked kind of like a dragon but more like the size of a cat? I’m not really sure what’s going on over there but it seems there have been more and more magical rituals happening over there.”

From what I hear, the team’s mission this time was to do the eastern patrol. On their patrol they seemed to have found what they thought might be a zombie laying on the side of the road. Rumour has it a dragon appeared out of no where to smell for rot or decay but it turned out to be a farmer who didn’t keep his fluids and passed out walking along the road in the hot, hot sun.

What they found was that he was looking for his son who had been playing around in some dangerous woods, came home white as a sheet, and passed out unable to wake up again. The team wanted to check out the kid and talk to the sister but ended up not asking the sister anything and setting out into the dangerous forest.

Following tracks through the wilderness and fending off briars and beasts, they found some kind of temple or shrine overgrown for over a hundred years with vines and briars.

The Trap Filled Sun Shrine

As the team investigated they found themselves to be on the business end of a cosmic joke by the gods of traps. With traps left and right, they made their way through to find that this was building where an offshoot of the generally-considered-good-and-lawful Sun deity “Lathander”‘s church had been preparing 120 years ago for some event that is to happen 6 years in the future. This offshoot was apparently considered cuckoo for believing a questionable prophecy and excommunicated.

The team found that there is some kind of poison that has magical properties to people to sleep. They’ve managed to uncover a lot of information about it and were able to make an antidote but at the cost of waking something nearby. The party was attacked by zombified priests. Just when they thought they were safe, some of them came back to life after being defeated.
