Stickied: Chronology Summary

Summary of Events thus far:

  • The Rabbit Hole Appears
  • The First Expedition journeys into the Rabbit Hole to find a new work
  • Understaffed, the Regent puts out a call for adventurers to join the expedition
  • Our heroes sign up to become adventurers forming a Team. We are assigned a Team Yurt but until we make it past the Trainee stage, we will not be paid and are only “borrowing” the Team Yurt and any other Team Resources.

Season 1

  • Our Team is assigned a captain to observe and report on our performance. Our Team is assigned Captain M – a very capable fighter but is preoccupied with both brewing and drinking alcohol.
  • Our Team embarks on a series of “Missions” They are, however, extremely boring for the most part including delivering things, uneventful merchant escort missions, and routine patrol missions (all the while being observed and rated)
  • [ Episode 1: the WatchTower ] Our Team goes on a delivery mission to the outpost about 1 days north west of Ohte on the way to Idbash.
    • While on standby, the members decide to investigate a local missing boy. The trail eventually lead their to the cursed Watch Tower.
    • Here they found that many many decades ago, the owner of the outpost, a devout Paladin to the just sun god Lathander was to give birth to a child. The fates would be extremely cruel to that child’s parents and an evil monstrosity would be born. Long story short, the Paladin was buried in a ceremony but buried with a gem that the monstrous child and father would be trapped in.
    • The evil at work there would corrupt this shrine and the sun god’s light would be snuffed out. The paladin could not rest in peace instead unwillingly becoming an undead protector of this now cursed tower.
    • Whenever adventures would find the tower, they would be killed and their army of undead would increase. The same would happen to the outpost owner’s son.
    • The Team didn’t make any friends here, an evil monster has been set loose on the world, and without an heir the future of this outpost is in serious jeopardy.
    • The desecrated has been destroyed and its evil no longer seeped into the world from here.
    • Details: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
  • [ Episode 2 The Slumber Before the Storm ] The Wizard, Ranger, Gish, and Captain M embark on a routine patrol while the rest of the team makes some coin helping the Caravan Company with their tavern.
    • Along the way, our patrolling team finds a distraught old man. They find that his son is gravely ill. Returning to their farm, they discover that he’s being affected from some kind of magical sleeping poison.
    • From the farm to the east of Ohte, they journey into the woods known for centuries to be dangerous and not the realm of man.
    • They discover an old shrine dedicated to an offshoot of the Church of Lathander. This offshoot believed that an Avatar of the sun god Lathander would be born into this world in the future and they prepared for that avatar’s arrival.
    • They put themselves into a slumber for some 120 years set to awaken 6 years after the present day. There have been a lot of ominous predictions about the future but no on in the Church of Lathander believes an avatar to come.
    • Branded as heretics, the Lathander followers prepared everything for their wake up including preserving the first floor of their building, filling it with traps to prevent so called “grave robbers”, and put their shrine in the middle of a forest where centuries of legend makes most people more than hesitant to set foot in it.
    • Things did not go how they planned and they were betrayed by one of their own serving another deity. Most of the priests were killed in their slumber, their shrine desecrated, and their betrayer caught in one of their own traps. Being killed within  a desecrated shrine, they would not even get the peace of death and became undead creatures until being freed from the mortal realm by our adventurers.
    • One 2nd in command priest who was still in slumber was rescued and is now wandering around in Ohte unsure of what to do with his order dead and only 6 years until the coming of Lathander’s avatar (or so he believes)
    • The team was able to destroy the desecration and stop the evil from seeping into these lands as well as make an antidote to say the farmer’s child.
    • The farm was so happy,  that he become an ally of the team offering his place to stay any time the team passes through as well as supplying the team with some bartering materials (grains from his farm)
    • Details: Part 1 Part 2
  • E2.5 [ The Wizard Tower ] Piecing together clues thought of as only rumour and hearsay, the Bard learns to the location of an old wizard tower thought to have treasure inside.
    • The Rogue, Monk, Wizard, and Bladed Gish available at the time are recruited to help solve the mysteries of this tower
    • While Kela kept bandits at bay, the spirit of the Wizard of the tower was expecting them.
    • Testing them, their skills, and their resolve the team journey through many floors of the tower to finally reach the top and final resting place of the Wizard who had been talking to them throughout the tower.
    • The once famous and powerful yet somewhat forgotten Wizard wanted to prepare newer generations to fight back against the encroaching evil set to take over the lands.
    • She knew who the Rogue, Wizard, Bladed Gish, and Bard (and others) were and implied that she knew a great deal more about them. She tried to warn them of the future to come and that they would need to use all their skills to overcome the storms ahead. She knew that they would travel to unknown lands but what they are looking for truly does lay ahead.
  • E2.6 [ Village Abandon ] Our Eldritch Knight decides to investigate that empty village near the Wizard Tower
    • The area is a walled of “quarantine zone” in the Kingdom of Arkadia. This Kingdom is far away from Ohte so the vegetation and architecture is very different.
    • The abandoned village with the Gate is Netaph and for the most part it looks like maybe a decade ago, the residents up and left (and locked up before leaving).
    • A 2nd village called Ysgard was found but nearly all of the buildings and vegetation (farms, gardens) in the village had been razed maybe a decade ago.
    • A very dangerous Chimera was spotted
    • 2 teenagers were found hunting in the area. They had broken into the quarantine zone.
    • A cave was spotted
    • A very large metal wall was found stretching as far as you could see in wilderness.
    • There were heads on pikes and bodies on pikes in front of the wall that were chilling
  • [ Episode 3: The Storm ] Our team enjoys an afternoon drink at the local tavern but things will never be the same again… (summer’s gone and it’s getting cold outside… and wet.. and rainy)
    • A huge explosion rocks the town. 7 dead, 7 dead in grave condition and cursed, 46 injured, the Pelor shrine and several other shrines are obliterated (heavy rains start)
    • A masked man possibly related to the Church of Pelor in Kazuzeki kidnapped the Potter, the potter son forced to place a massive AoE device, and patsy used to place the device unknowingly.
    • The group stashes the Potter’s son rather than turning him over to the authorities.
    • The church of Pelor was investigated and the priests were very kind and offered free coffee, tea, food, and shelter from the pouring rain.
    • The group causes a lot of mischief including freezing a poisonous spider and putting it under someone’s pillow and setting off tremors.
      • The frozen spider spiders a priest in the knight whose neck swelled immensely and was unable to help protect the church when it was attacked later
    • The group breaks into the main shrine to find a priest inside praying.
    • The group harasses the priest until he gets fed up, drops a smoke bomb and is gone.
    • The group finds a covered hole in the ground and thinking that the suspicious priest must jumped in, two of the group jump in falling 60′ to their deaths.
    • The group investigates the Church’s basement and steals whatever they can find.
    • Their investigation turns up a secret door leading to stairs
    • The team find a secret facility carved out of the earth and stone using magic all under the church’s basement level.
    • The team finds some parts to be trapped leading to a treasure vault that was mostly empty. There were signs that there were a lot more before but the coffers had already been drained. Accounting documents showed that a lot of funds had been transferred to several other unknown organizations.
    • The team finds that there are training rooms, private bedrooms, shared bedrooms, massive barracks, kitchen, cafeteria, storage facilities, etc. There are enough here to house and train a very large army of many hundreds of people but only maybe 40 people were found here.
    • Talking to one of the people here enjoying some soup, he seemed to be kind of normal – not much of a villain but sounded perhaps more like he was in some kind of cult believing that they needed to do something to protect their families, protect their way of life, and make their lands great again.
    • Further investigations revealed that there were probably a lot of equipment, armor, and weapons here but they were mostly all gone.
    • The potter was found and when sneaking him out, he reveled the gate that was used to teleport him there which had a stairwell leading to a yet lower level.
    • The lowest levels had creepy altars that gave us a bad feeling. 4 altars each inscribed with different runes seem to be involved with some kind of consecration rituals. The rooms above and spaces above 5 ritualistically marked consecration zones were noted to be very clean but giving the team creepy vibes.
    • The team attacked and killed the suspicious priests and 4 others in these underground altars and destroyed the altars.
    • The team used the gate to make their way back to Ohte and reunite the potter and the son.
    • The team doesn’t want to turn the potter’s son into the authorities but will have to make a report
      • The team encouraged the potter and son to leave town and avoid getting questioned and held by the authorities. Consequently, Captain M who gave his word that he would defend the team was made to resign from the Militia.
    • Further investigation of the runes has discerned the runes were used in consecration rituals to obfuscate which deities the Pelor church was subverted to be consecrated to. We should be on the look out for the same sequences of runes in the future.
  • E3.1 [ Displacement ] One of the local hunting parties hasn’t yet returned front their hunt. People are started to get worried.
    • Turns out a Displacer Beast was hunting the hunters in the nearby area.
    • What the helios is a displacer beast doing around here?!
  • [ Episode 4: Graduation ] We were all chilling in the tavern when emergency sirens went off. A horde of undead was enticed to lay siege to our home. Militia members and Adventurers would fight side by side to defend the walls around Ohte while the Royal Guard protected the Agricultural Zone and the Underground.
    • Our team under Capitan M defended a section of the South Wall near the main gate as waves of undead hit our walls.
    • A massive beam of energy fired through the forests breached the town’s southern and north walls and unfortunately Captain M was caught in the blast.
    • With undead breaching the breaking walls, a group of militia were lured into a trap and sacrificed to summon a giant skeletal dragon from within the wall.
    • The leadership of the Caravan stepped in with the lead guitarist’s phantom blades to restrain movement, the lead singer crushing it from a distance, and the drummer – our wizard’s alchemical boss, was indeed boss as she summoned a swarm of meteors. As fighting continued all over town and the Caravan took on the skeletal dragon in the centre of town.
    • We had to fight the zombified militia members who moments earlier were our allies along with another powerful looking undead warrior who raised them as undead.
    • Our wizard almost blinked herself out of existence and our Eldritch Knight’s shield never went off. Our PsiFighter had a lot of flaming javelins. There was a mouse sprouting trees everywhere, providing ambiance and cover. Our Gish was a literal pin cushion. And the team discovered one of our Rogue’s many kinks — She likes feeling up (minotaur) bones. Several people broke their bow — Not our Ranger though, he’s good like that. Our Elemental Mage and Wizard blasted the fuck out of several enemies and the Cleric picked up the PsiFighter’s slack.
    • After the battle we found someone we suspect had helped summon the skeletal dragon and captured him. No one on our team died but a HUGE number of Militia members and Adventurers didn’t make it through the long night and life will never be the same again for all they knew.

Season 2

  • At long last, we embark on our expedition as we journey through the Rabbit Hole.
  • Despite the cold, bitter, and rainy winter, the expedition took our team to tall grass plains with 22C degree weather, blue skies, and a gentle breeze.
